Students interested in surveying and would like to do some work experience visit  www.alifewithoutlimits.com.au to view videos about surveying and find out about study pathways. The industry offer approximately 25 work experience positions per year. Students most suited to these positions are those that have an interest in maths, IT, geography and the outdoors. Students can register on the website


Student Requirements: Evem though this is an external company who finds placements for you, normal application procedures for work experience still apply. Forms will need to be submitted by cut off dates to Hayley Moody so paperwork can be completed

Lavarack Barracks - Women in Army Adventure Camp: 25th – 27th September

This placement will provide a hands-on and interactive experience for young women who are considering a career in the Australian Army. Participants will be exposed to various 3rd Brigade units to gain an understanding of diverse job roles.

The camp is open to female students in Years 10 - 12 aged between 16 – 18 years of age. Taking place over 4 days and 3 nights in the school holidays, this is a residential camp and participants will be accommodated at Lavarack Barracks.

INDIGENOUS OPPORTUNITY 
Broadspectrum is a Defence contracted workshop, based at Lavarack Barracks, that provides maintenance services to a range of Defence vehicles and equipment.  Trades undertaken include vehicle mechanic, fitter & turner, electronic technicians and electrical fitters.
Broadspectrum is looking to increase indigenous participation in the work place and have expressed a desire to host indigenous students for work experience.
Ideally, students will already be undertaking a VET certificate level course in one of the trade areas mentioned above.  If they can come to the workplace with an understanding of workplace safety and basic knowledge of hand tools, this will be advantageous and will allow them to be more 'hands on' during work experience.

Student Requirements: Collect form from Student Reception or download from the Required Documents tab of the Careers Website.

Students are required to find and contact their own employer for work experience.

For general work experience, complete the Workplace Safety Induction course under the ‘Workplace Learning’ tab on the careers website.
Present or email certificate to student reception.

The White Card is required for students undertaking work in construction industry areas such as: Carpentry, Plumbing, Building, Electrical, Drafting and Architecture. Visit www.bluedogtraining.com.au for information. Please present white card to student reception.

Applications must be submitted to Student Reception prior to cut off dates (normally 2 weeks prior to end of term) or emailed to cmacpherson1@sacc.catholic.edu.au
