Applications for the 2017 InspireU Junior STEM camp are now open and close COB 2nd July 2017.

The InspireU Junior STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Camp will be run at The University of Queensland St Lucia campus from July 3-7  2017, and participants will be staying at Emmanuel College for the duration of the camp.  This camp is for Year 9 and 10 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are interested in studying an STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) related discipline.

To be eligible to attend the camps students must meet the following criteria:

(a)Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander origin;

(b)Be enrolled in schooling in Year 9 or Year 10 in 2017;

(c)Have school attendance rate of 90% or greater; and

(d)Interested in undertaking an OP eligible pathway.

Students will be selected from a competitive process and will be assessed on their academic standing in addition to their attendance and behaviour.

There is no restriction on the number of applicants from a particular school.

Applications will close on Friday 2nd June  2017 and all applicants will be notified via email of their outcome by COB Friday 9th June 2017.  Please forward on to all your contacts and apologies for duplications that you may receive.

BOND UNIVERSITY INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIP

Bond University Indigenous scholarships for 2018 are now open and close on the 31st July. Please see attachments as well as the direct link to online application.

These scholarships, valued up to 50% of tuition fees for any single undergraduate degree (excluding the Medical Program) or 100% tuition for any diploma program, are awarded to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students who have demonstrated extracurricular involvement, leadership potential and academic achievements.

If you do not meet the requirements of the program in which you would like to study, Bond has an excellent pathway program with Diplomas through Bond University College.

Applications are open for the CSIRO ASSETS nine-day summer school for Year 10 students who are interested in STEM and who identify with their Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. 

Note that cut off for applications is June 16th 2017.

 


The Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation provides two-year scholarships to aid Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with the costs of senior schooling. Students who have a positive attitude towards school work and participate in extra-curricular activities are encouraged to apply. Scholarship applications open 21 June.
