INDIGENOUS OPPORTUNITY

Broadspectrum is a Defence contracted workshop, based at Lavarack Barracks, that provides maintenance services to a range of Defence vehicles and equipment.  Trades undertaken include vehicle mechanic, fitter & turner, electronic technicians and electrical fitters.

Broadspectrum is looking to increase indigenous participation in the work place and have expressed a desire to host indigenous students for work experience.

Ideally, students will already be undertaking a VET certificate level course in one of the trade areas mentioned above.  If they can come to the workplace with an understanding of workplace safety and basic knowledge of hand tools, this will be advantageous and will allow them to be more 'hands on' during work experience.
